Physical security for branches, cash handling areas and vaults
For a bank, security means a strict access procedure, provability of every action involving valuables and a clear picture of customer flow. n7kel designs and implements security entry airlocks, access control and video surveillance (n7kel Access), analyzes customer flow in branches (n7kel Flow) and adds video analytics with tamper-protected evidence.
Challenges
What matters to a bank
Entry into secured zones
Strictly one person at a time, authorized staff only, with every passage recorded.
Cash handling area
Cash operations, counting and transfer of valuables — under observation and with evidence.
Vault
Dual control, access according to procedure, a log of entries and exits.
Provability
An event record must be protected against retroactive editing and independently verifiable.
Customer flow
Queues, waiting times, load on service windows and ATMs, service quality.
Visitor checks
If the bank requires it, vehicle license plates and faces are checked against wanted lists under an agreement with government authorities.
Consultation quality
Mandatory wording and disclosure of terms in conversations at service windows.
Data in one place
Entries, events, conversations and transactions across all branches — for investigations and audits.
n7kel Access · we design and implement
Security entry airlocks and access control
We design, supply and implement security entry airlocks and access control for cash handling areas, vaults and staff-only zones.
- security entry airlocks (mantrap portals) admitting one person at a time;
- card and face access, permissions by zone and time;
- dual control at the vault entrance using the access control system;
- integration with the security console and the video surveillance system;
- an entry log for the security department;
- learn more on the n7kel Access page.
n7kel Flow
Customer flow in the branch
Branches serve a large flow of customers. n7kel Flow shows queues, waiting times and the load on zones: waiting areas, service windows, ATMs, consultations.
Customers who have provided their face to the bank themselves and given consent are recognized at the entrance. For them, visit analysis is available: how much time the customer spent in each zone of the branch and what they did — waited, were served at a window, used an ATM, had a consultation.
- in n7kel Flow, all other visitors are counted anonymously — only headcount and waiting time; checks against wanted lists are a separate module that works only under an agreement with government authorities (see below);
- the recognition module is enabled only by the bank’s decision, and the bank is the data controller;
- at the entrance, a face is compared only with the reference images of customers who have given consent; no reference images are created for other visitors, and the processing scheme is agreed by the bank’s lawyer before the module is enabled;
- a customer can withdraw consent — the reference image is deleted.

n7kel Vakhta
What the system sees
- cash counting — a workplace action flag with a frame and a video clip;
- post occupancy: whether a teller post or security post is unattended;
- staff identification against reference images — whether the person at the post is authorized; only with written consent, and the separate “no reference” status is never treated as a mismatch;
- entry into a marked zone — a critical event with an immediate notification;
- a person on the floor and low light.
Every event is signed and included in a chain of records. An evidence package can be verified by an independent program — without our server and without our involvement.
Module under an agreement with government authorities
Wanted-list checks
If the bank requires it, vehicle license plates at the entrance and visitors’ faces are checked against the wanted lists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Committee and other authorized bodies. The module is available only under an agreement with the relevant government authorities and in the manner established by law. In the event of a match, a notification goes to an authorized member of the bank’s security department and, as the agreement provides, to the authority.

Scenarios
Typical scenarios in a bank
n7kel products — functions of our AI on your cameras. We design and implement — security systems that we supply, install and integrate.
| Location | Situation | What n7kel does |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance to the cash handling area | Two people entering on one pass | We design and implement: a security entry airlock admitting one person at a time |
| Vault | Entry without a second employee | We design and implement: dual control using the access control system |
| Cash handling area | Cash counting outside the procedure | n7kel video analytics: an action flag with evidence |
| Teller post | Post unattended, an unauthorized person at the post | n7kel video analytics: post occupancy, identification against reference images |
| Staff-only zones | Entry into a restricted area | n7kel video analytics: a critical event; we design and implement: access control |
| Branch and perimeter | Video surveillance, integration with security | We design and implement |
| Customer service hall | The queue is growing and the windows cannot keep up | n7kel Flow: queues and waiting times, long-queue notification |
| Customer service hall | How a customer’s visit goes | n7kel Flow: time in the waiting area, at a window, at an ATM, in a consultation — only for customers who have given consent |
| Service window | Product terms not disclosed | n7kel Voice: checks for mandatory wording — with customers notified |
| Vehicle and pedestrian entrances | A wanted vehicle or person | The database check module — only under an agreement with government authorities |
IT and information security requirements
- fully autonomous installation: the server and archive are inside the bank’s network, with no external connections;
- network segmentation: cameras in a separate segment, no inbound connections from the internet to the video analytics equipment;
- roles and access log: every view and download of a frame is logged, including actions by the vendor’s staff;
- keys for external systems with separate permissions, signed webhooks;
- retention periods are configurable, and deletion on expiry is recorded in the integrity log;
- all data stays within the bank’s environment, is confidential and is not shared with third parties, except where expressly provided for by the agreement and the law; any restrictions needed are configured at the bank’s request;
- integration with the core banking system, queue management system, access control, security monitoring consoles and any other bank systems — as part of the project.
What is needed to start
n7kel AI is trained and tested on ordinary 2D images, so the cameras you already have are suitable. 3D cameras are supported too, if they are already on site or the task requires them.
- a survey of the branch or cash handling area: entrances, teller posts, vault, existing access control and video surveillance;
- requirements of the security department and IT for hosting and access;
- a design for security entry airlocks and access control based on the survey;
- a video analytics pilot at 1–2 sites for 2–4 weeks, with a report against agreed criteria.
Let’s discuss your site
We will survey your branch, cash handling area or vault and propose a design. The price is determined after the survey.
Frames show n7kel AI output on licensed stock footage and on a synthetic checkout scene; people’s faces are blurred. Screenshots show demonstration data; the interfaces in the illustrations are schematic mockups with sample data. The interface in the screenshots is shown in Russian.
